Chipping
Tips
Chipping, this is the part of the golf game where we, the
average golfer and I include myself in this, throw most of our
shots away, how many time have you got yourself in a great
position just short of the green looking at an eagle
possibility or a par and walked away with a seven or even more,
caused by making a poor chip shot.
Have you ever had a golf lesson LIKE THIS!!!Watch the video.
On this page you will find a number of
tips to improve your chipping and of course your golf score
Swing The Child On Short
Pitch Shots
Poor wedge play around the greens is invariably
caused by poor tempo and clubhead manipulation by your hands.
Next time you have a wedge pitch of 10 to 15 yards, imagine a
child sifting in a backyard swing. As you bring the clubback and
through, picture the face of your wedge
holding that youngster. Don't turn your hands abruptly or the
child will fallout. Swing the club on a straight path to the
target and watch your pitch shots improve.
"Ghost" Clubhead Under Ball For High,
Soft Pitch
A shot often missed by golfers is one requiring a short, high
pitch over a hazard to a small, fast green. The shot must rise
steeply but softly and with little spin to settle quickly. This
requires a delicate, gentle swing in which no particular
force is applied to the ball (providing your lie is decent).
Using a light pitching wedge, preferably with little flange,
play the ball
forward in an open, narrowstance, open the clubface and
position your handsslightly behind the bail. Take a nearly full
backswing with little wrist-break and slide or "ghost" the
clubhead under the ball. It's almost as if you're not touching
the ball at all.
